Who are you?
Born as Jarius Julpha Nkouma and known professionally as S-B Leprof. I am a musical artist and entrepreneur from Republic of the Congo Brazzaville. I started having an interest of art globally included modeling, design and music production when I left my hometown for Ghana.
Then I joined 5 Star Modeling Agency in December 2018 and in July 2019 I had my first artistic contract, by being part of the JOIN THE NATION [True Blues] campaign launched by Woodin in Accra.
In the same period, I began to learn how to produce instrumentals with my android phone and I released my first single instrumental version "En Attendant My YouTube Album" , with my own Indie record label named GFD.
Making music became my only occupation, that why we could noticed that even I am new in the music industry, I have already a lot of good songs both instrumentals version and lyrics on my Discography.
Where are you from?
I am from Republic of the Congo.
And my country have a variety of cultures, the Congolese culture is a kind of mixture of Portuguese and Cuban old traditions.
The soukouss coupé décalé is the local Pop music and the Congolese Rumba is the most played and popular music.The musical genre is originated in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of the Congo. It comes from the Cuban rumba of the 1930s.
Inspired by many other musical current, the Congolese rumba is often referred to as free improvisation, a musical practice inherited from free jazz, electroacoustic and concrete music. But currently the new generation of Congolese artists are going to other genres of music such Afrobeat and Hip-Hop Rap.
