Who are you?
I think I would describe myself more of a singer songwriter for now. In the past, I absorb most musical knowledge and skills via hands-on stimulation like listening to music, watching MTV, singing competitions and recording myself to try to gain skills in music. I recalled that I was given piano lessons when I was 10 but I was just not into the graded examinations at the end of each year so I decided to quit after a few months. I felt that being restricted to theories and other frameworks limits my creativity so I developed my own style of song writing, without mastering any musical instruments!
Where are you from?
I was born in Malaysia then migrated to Australia to study medicine. Music has always been with me since young age as I have been writing songs since my teenage years with a wide variety of contrasting musical elements. While I was in Australia, the majority of these songs were kept in his vault while cramming in medical school, waiting to be professionally released. I was not familiar with the music scene in Australia until I subsequently came across a local producer in between my work schedule in the hospital! I have learnt so much and I feel the music scene here down under has been kind to a late starter like me!
