Who are you?
Finding the feeling and message in the music through an understanding of rhythm, harmony, and feel is an essential part of my personal process. In the stuff I'm working on and have recorded with this single, unreleased music previously, on my social media I think there's a sense of expression through struggle, passion, happiness, that reflects on what me and the other members of the band felt when we were playing this music. In this track it's just about coming out of the struggle and making it to the next day because there's always hope on horizon, so to speak. As an artist I would say what I have gone through with respect to the trauma, fear, discrimination, is consistently affecting the way I understand the world through music.
Where are you from?
I'm originally from Seattle, WA and then I moved to NYC and lived in greenwich village, and now the upper west side. I played in orchestras and played and listened extensively to Jazz and other forms of Black American Music including hip-hop, Rnb, Pop, Funk, etc. In the city I have started to make a brand playing shows at local venues and have played with a few bigger names in the jazz community and pop sax stuff. These days, I'm just composing a lot, working on my local stuff in NYC, going to NYU studying Saxophone, and trying to release music. I recorded this recent track as a single and I think it's really polished so it could reach the attention of a lot of people to conceptualize the beat and feel the music.
