Max Mupesse
“I help emerging artists position themselves effectively and give them the tools to flourish as professionals.”
Max Mupesse is opening the doors for emerging artists, he started as a concert promoter, but like the rest of the world, the current pandemic changed our situation and brought us to try new things. It opened his eyes to create multiple sources of income for his company.I needed to create something that creates value […] nothing that is instant, that I can teach without asking for money. The pandemic gave him the opportunity to write a book, piviting and not staying inside the box.HM/ The pandemic create a change but gave you the opportunity to write your eBooks.MM/ You got it. There are always times when you’re stagnant. I should start this tomorrow, I should start next week. When you’re at home is like a solitary confinement, you’re observing and listening to your thoughts. What sticks out the most is what you will eventually do, what you will focus on the most.In case you didn’t know, he is giving away for free 3 Steps Every Emerging Artist Should Consider that is part of the official eBook that will not only teach how to build your brand but to be professional and someone that everyone will want to work with. You need to add value in order to ask for something in return. That’s a mistake he did in the past that he soon realized that it wasn’t going to work. He used to sell merch to people he thought would be interested, but it’s not necessarily people that would care much. This is a lesson for many new, independent artists: know your market!HM/ How did publishing an eBook changed your process of writing?MM/That’s a good question. Just the idea of revered engineering, at the beginning I was mostly putting on paper my thoughts, but now I have an understanding of a proper execution. The idea of publishing my work and putting it on a platform, I understand it’s importance. It’s more than writing something and telling people what I did, the publishing aspect has value and I have to hold on to it dearly. It opened my mind to the extent that I now want to open my own publishing company.HM/ How did you choose the best way to market your book?MM/ I had people around me to help me and now with the aid of entrepreneurs outside and on social media. Having social validation and reposting when they purchase my book, I can use it as a marketing tactic. I do interviews, do lives on Instagram, make Q&As, create buzz on social media, etc. Pretty much I’m making myself visible everywhere.HM/ How can you suggest others to reach those contacts that helped you?MM/ From a saying that I got in a seminar, and that I keep in mind, get in the ROOM! Referrals, Offers, Opportunities and Move. Make sure you get those referrals (let’s say on Instagram), make an offer (to participate somewhere, like a live), cease the opportunity when you have and make a move, take action!

HM/ How can others acquire knowledge?MM/ Get an education, from website (music industry, tech industry, entertainment business, etc.) and even YouTube videos. A mix of everything, but most importantly, your personal experience.HM/ Are there things that you edited out of your book?MM/ Yes of course! I had someone helping me and making sure everything was well expressed and cohesive. What I want emerging artist to understand is the importance of investing on yourself. Sometimes there is a lack of trust of who they invest, but make the research and focus on your strength instead of what you’re lacking.HM/ What about those that want to start writing a book?MM/ Writing a book is not that complicated. Start by speaking you thoughts out loud and then you can start writing something. I can record myself for a few minutes, when I’m done I listen and then write down important ideas.. If you want to start a book, I would encourage to start with that process.
