At the Kaiserkeller Club in Hamburg, Germany, The Beatles performed without George Harrison. They had deported the guitarist in 1960 for being underage (he was 17) and not legally allowed to remain in a nightclub after midnight.
Alice Cooper came to the rescue of two fans. In 1991, Patrick and Dee Ann Kelly’s California home was being re-possessed. Patrick had painted Coopers face on the house to help sell the property. Mr Cooper signed autographs to help raise money for the couple.
Ozzy Ozbourne struggled with burglars. In 2004 two escaped with jewellery worth about £2m from his Buckinghamshire mansion. Osbourne told reporters that he had the masked raider in a headlock as he tried to stop him. The burglar broke free and jumped 30 ft from a first-floor window.
